Stone Soup Workshop in Taos

Just finished four day workshop in Taos with LavenderSage Art Retreat folks.  Still on vacation in New Mexico.  Brought an easel intending to paint plein air but weather is too hot during the day and mosquitos after that.  Early morning flies by when you're having sumptuous breakfasts!

Eyes of God

I painted this many years ago after a trip to Arizona, or was it New Mexico?  It hangs in my counseling office and people often ask why the children have no faces.  I tell them they are the 'eyes of God' and no one questions further.  I came to the conclusion that they WERE the eyes of God after I tried to paint faces on them several times without success.  Artists get to do things like that.  I'm leaving tomorrow for another Lavender Sage Art Retreat, in Taos this time.  Looking forward to exploring around Albuquerque and Santa Fe again - The Turquoise Trail.   Last time I took photos.  This time, who knows?
