I'm taking another Athenaeum class with Cathy Grawin: Paint Like the Fauves.  Wonderful fun!  First class last night was Still Life but I still don't like it  much so I took the 'path less painted'.  Next week: Seascapes - Yes!

Paul Newman is the spirit of a torpedo sandwich,

He oozes Coors, he speaks souptese

and makes the proper impression

on my sanctuary.

A wax paper smile

wraps it uptight

and I am safe again.

(His teeth are calories

to polish up the meal)

Trying Pastel

Here's my first try.  I've always avoided pastels due to some misconceptions, I think.  Maybe I'll take the next class when it comes by. (Sort of like a bus?)  By the way, I don't CARE if the house is smack in the middle!  with trees growing out of the top of it...

Animal Portraits Revisited

These were done without brushes, fingers only!  I can't remember when, several years ago.  I used surgeon's gloves and acrylic paint. It was fun, but haven't dared to try it since, and now do the childrens' portraits the regular way!
