Remembering Landscaping

When I moved onto Alabama St. in North Park this was the street view to my front door.  Over the 28 years and several changes of ownership the landscaping has been ruthlessly destroyed: the tree was removed as were the plants and all that remains is an uneven patch of dead grass.  I want to remember it this way. I love my loft apartment, the little counseling room downstairs and the spacious garage where I have stored some of the precious cargo of my life, organizing and rearranging, nesting and feathering...

When it is time for me to leave, as it surely will be one day,  I will be sad, as I have been at every leave taking, carrying with me photos and memories of the best of times.
