Bali Laundry Day

Found this old watercolor 'start' while cleaning out the garage. Doctored it up in iphoto to enhance colors. It's from a photo I took on my long ago trip to SE Asia - sigh - memories!

Golden Workshop

Just finished a 2-day workshop at The Art Department learning to use new Golden products, and some old ones. Lots of textures and 'skins' - perfect for JELLYFISH!

San Diego Skyline Redux

Just pulled this unfinished cloth piece out from under the bed. The previous incarnation didn't exactly look right to me 'in person', but made a great photo:

I still want to make the ocean/bay more interesting and figure out how to display the whole thing which is about 40"x40". Problem is I think I need the help of a creative framer - where to look?

Here are a couple of closeups:
I'm hoping that unearthing the project will inspire me to finish it. Stay tuned.

Whenever China

Whenever I haven't painted anything for a while I like to look at photos from my trip to China and wonder why I don't make some art from them...

…then I decide the photos ARE the art, as well as the memories.

On KPBS Spectrum I found a book artist: (counting-coup-press.blogspot.com) whose work inspires me to make another altered book! I don't know where she lives, but would love to visit her in her studio.

Testing…testing...

I sketched this with aquarelle crayons and then sprayed it with water. Didn't get a good effect so went over it with colored pentel pens. Still didn't like it much so I iphoto shopped it in vignette matte and sepia. I like sepia best!
